Baby Genius: Favorite Children's Songs

Get the Nursery Rhymes DVD first
This is a cute DVD but not as good as the Baby Genuius Nursery Rhymes DVD. First of all I don't think these songs are FAVORITE CHILDREN'S SONGS. The list includes "take me out to the ballgame" and "yankee doodle dandy". I think some of the songs are good, but they should have had Children's songs for young children, since this DVD is definite geared towards younger children. "Sing, Dance and Play" - sort of the BG theme song is done nicely. My granddaughter is a year old - loves the Nursery Rhymes DVD and watches this one - it's just not as good. But it's still entertaining for your child.

Baby Genius
My 1 year old son gets hypnotized by these videos. He doesn't sit still long enough to watch anything else on TV, but the puppets/animation/kids keep him watching. Always welcome in my home.

Poor- not even close to other titles from Baby Genius
I bought this title after the great experience with the "Nursery Rhymes" DVD. I have several unpleasant problems with this title:
1. The quality of audio is very bad, it sounds like a home recording
2. Images and scenes are average, not much effort has been put into them
3. The accompanying Compact Disc turned out to be in SPANISH! (no mention on Amazon about this)
4. Though my baby son is totally riveted when i put on the Nursery Rhymes DVD, he couldn't care less when this one is playing
5. What songs are these anyway? the lyrics seem altered in a very weird way, for incomprehensible reasons

Baby Genius: Baby Animals Favorite Sing-A-Longs

Pretty good - not awesome
This video is OK. It's entertaining for the little ones but I wish it had more "educational" aspects to it. For example, instead of just music with videos of animals, it would be awesome if they showed the animal making the animal noise that we all teach our kids. Like the elephant trumpeting, the lion roaring, the monkey chattering, etc. That would help my daughter at least connect the dots between what I tell her when reading books and what she sees in the video. Its hard to find videos like that.

That being said, my 14 month old is pretty entertained by it. But she does like her other videos better that have more talking about the animals. Basically I think kids sometimes prefer the educational stuff over just music and video.

Really sweet and the songs aren't annoying
Our daughter really likes this dvd. She'll watch the whole thing happily. The songs don't bug the adults, either, which is a major bonus. Most are original lyrics about the animal being depicted but to the tune of familiar kids songs.

My 2 yr old received this for his bday and he absolutely loves it! He squeals when he sees the meerkats popping up to the music! He is a huge animal and music lover so this movie was perfect. It also allowed me to have a little time to get the dishes done! I highly recommend to other mothers who can't get 30 minutes to themselves to get something done! =) I will b ordering more animal videos! They are also such a good price!
